Pretty Little Liars Season 3 Episode 18 “Dead to Me” Review/Recap

Pretty Little Liars went back to it’s relationship drama persona this week, with some A drama thrown in along the way.. most stuff we already knew though..
Here were the top 4 highlights of this week’s episode.
Source: ABC

1. Emily’s flashback’s to the night she was drugged and witnessed a woman in red and a person in A gear digging up Ali’s grave.. In which she first jumbled up during psycho-therapy. We all know Emily could not have killed Ali. But her flashbacks helped us see more into her relationship with Ali, did Ali share the same feelings for Emily? Could Ali be the girl in the red coat? And what is Doctor.Sullivan hiding, is she truly on the girls side or is she hiding something sinister?
2. Spencer has lost the plot!! Seriously, she’s gone ape-crazy after Toby’s revelation of being on team-A, she started off being moody and continuing to take her anger out on Ali.. She also continued her hunt for Toby, in which led nowhere during this episode. She was that furious that she went on a raging rampage into revealing in-front of the girls to Jason that Ali was pregnant and that Holden could be the father (in which we don’t know yet and was nowhere to be seen).
Ouch Spencer! And that was pretty mean digging Toby’s name into his own mother’s tombstone.. stop taking your anger out on the dead Spencer. And just tell your friends about Spencer!
3. No-more Ezria? But could there be a blossoming relationship with Wes (who is currently being hunted by his ex-teacher’s boyfriend)? Would you want Aria to get with Wes or do you already want Ezra back?
4. Lastly, Hanna discovered more about Caleb’s family tree, potentially discovering that his uncle may actually be his father! It was the less big story of the night, but actually made us understand and feel for the two. The garage scenes where particularly boring though, but minus that we got some good character development. We also learned that Paige wasn’t cheating on Emily but only with that girl Hanna spotted in solving the A drama.
Overall, an actual note-worthy character/relationship driven episode of the series. It didn’t answer much, but further delved into all the character’s complex’s and issues and for the first time in a while wasn’t a complete bore in doing so. It wasn’t quite as on-par as recent episodes, as the last few have been full of A-revelations.
We need more answers now please writers!, too much touch-and-go.
Overall Rating:
3.7/5
