With the end of 2014 rapidly approaching, it’s time to look back at the 10 biggest artists who helped make it so memorable, as well as look into what to expect from them in 2015:
10. Meghan Trainor:

2015: With Meghan’s debut album Title due in January, fans can expect a few more singles to follow. However, her biggest mission in the new year will be to prove to the media that she has what it takes to last, and not become the industry’s next forgotten, two-hit wonder. Carly Ray Jepsen anyone? (who actually is planning a comeback during the new year too!).
9. Pharrell Williams:

Elsewhere, Pharrell has been hard at work in the studio, producing songs for artists such as Ed Sheeran, Kylie Minogue, and Gwen Stefani. He also served as a judge on the seventh season of The Voice in the United States.
2015: Pharrell is set to return for the eighth season of The Voice, alongside fellow judges Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera in February.
8. Nicki Minaj:

Back to music, Nicki’s single “Anaconda” almost broke social media with the single cover alone. By the time the video arrived, the track had gathered so much hype that Nicki was able to dethrone Miley Cyrus, breaking her 24 hour view record on Vevo, previously held by “Wrecking Ball” in 2013. Nicki eventually released her third studio alum, The Pinkprint, in December.
2015: Nicki’s The Pinkprint Tour kicks off in March, and is expected to travel worldwide throughout the year.
7. Katy Perry:

2014: Katy has sustained her huge success throughout the Prism era. The album’s third single “Dark Horse” became Katy’s ninth #1 in the United States, even after already having been released as a successful promotional single three months prior. The song’s video has also become the most viewed music video of 2014, with a staggering 740k views and counting! Katy also began the hugely successful Prismatic World Tour in May, which recently broke impressive records in Australia.
2015: Katy has been given the honor to perform the halftime show at the 49th annual Super Bowl in February. She also recently recorded her tour in Sydney, Australia and is expected to release another theatrical concert movie like she did in 2012 with Katy Perry: Part of Me.
6. Ed Sheeran:

2014: Ed has really begun to make a name for himself this year. The release of his second studio album, X in July has shown that he finally has what it takes to have both album and single success in the United States. The album’s current single, “Thinking Out Loud” has peaked at number 4 on the Billboard chart so far, while already having hit the #1 position in Australia and the United Kingdom. He is currently on a world tour to promote the album.
2015: Ed will be touring worldwide until July. If his previous album is anything to go by, expect a few more singles from X.
Who will score the top 5 positions? Be sure to check Media Hype before the year ends to find out!
