In the modern age of pop culture comes A Star Is Born. A haunting reflection and picture of modern fame, addiction and the struggle to remain true to one’s self.
The film follows Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper), a rock star struggling to cope with alcohol addiction. But everything changes when he meets the talented and beautiful Ally (Lady Gaga) whom he takes under his wing in pursuing her passion of music.
Gaga and Bradley’s chemistry here is just something else. It’s a very rare thing in today’s age of cinema where a film’s leads share such a powerful spark.
And if that’s not enough the film has an elegant and classic soundtrack to go with it, which showcases Lady Gaga at her best and unearths a musical side to Cooper (whom also directs the film).

For Gaga this is her first major lead role in a big screen picture. The 32-year-old’s other acting credit goes to her television debut in American Horror Story: Hotel.
Here, she truly gets to shine and deliver one Oscar-worthy performance. Everything just feels so raw with how she portrays Ally. From the very minute she appears on screen you will be completely sold!
You can tell Ally means so much to the super-star, whom has revealed in previous interviews that her own personal story is somewhat emulated within her on-screen character.
While the story at large is quite familiar in essence, the telling and conviction is everything and makes the fourth rendition of ‘A Star Is Born’ an unforgettable one.
Verdict: A tale as old as time told in such prestige and delicacy that you can’t help but fall in love. A must-see!
Overall Rating: 8.5/10
