If you think you’ve seen every possible iteration of Spider-Man, Spider-Noir on Prime Video is here to pleasantly prove you wrong.
Its commitment to the detective/noir aesthetic is something that must be commended. I admit at first it was a bit jarring to adjust to the style but quickly proves it is a must-see for fans of the iconic web-slinger.
The monochrome styling, the cynical voiceovers, and the slow-burn mystery plot give the series a distinct identity that sets it far apart from the usual superhero fatigue.
It takes the core elements we love about Spider-Man—the responsibility, the burden and filters them through a cynical lens.
Full attention or pure background viewing? The plot relies on a tangled web of clues and sharp, fast-paced dialogue that demands your full attention.
The Verdict: 7.5/10
