Your Next Trip Doesn’t Have To Be Far

Sometimes the best destinations are right under our noses.

Sometimes the best destinations are right under our noses, but we’re looking further afield as we’re trying to chase a different type of holiday. But the further we go, the more we spend, and sometimes we’re just looking for a nice cheap holiday that’s going to give us a great time, and one that’s going to take as little planning as possible. So, if your next trip doesn’t have to be far, then where are you going to go? Well, the location is up to you. All you’re going to need is someone to go with, a tent, and a destination in mind that’s within a few hours driving max. To make sure you have the most wonderful time, here’s how to maximise a camping experience.

Get The Right Equipment

The right equipment is not hard to source, the only problem people have is actually splashing the cash to buy some of it. But, once you’ve got everything you need, you could go away as many weekends as you like, whenever you like. The beauty of camping is that all you need to do is pack a bag, pack the car, and drive to a new location. You could spend the year exploring the country you live in for next to nothing. There are a few essentials that you should try and take. One of them is a awning from companies such as 4WD Supacentre. It attaches to your car or van to create a perfect little sheltered area, on that will be great for those mornings where you want to sit outside and have some nice food. Another is a generator. Whilst camping, you are a bit out in the wild and there’s generally no power. A generator will help you to have that luxurious stay filled with warmth if you buy a heater, and electricity to charge your phone and use other essential appliances. Make sure you have some thick floor lining for added comfort as well.

The Right Amenities

The right amenities are essential. If you’re going off the beaten track and not staying in a managed campsite, then you’re going to have to find a way to stay fresh and happy. If you are going to stay in a managed campsite, be sure to stay in one that has showers and preferably a club house. A club house will allow you to have a few too many drinks of an evening, and to meet now people that are also staying on the campsite!

Make It Fun!

To make it fun, you really need to embrace the camping lifestyle. Yes, it’s going to be a bit rugged. Yes, you’re not going to have the most luxurious nights sleep. But you do have the best gift of all, space and nature. Getting back to nature and enjoying the finer things in life is what camping is all about. It allows you to connect with people easier, as usually nobody is glued to their phone. Use camping as a way of trying new things and activities as well!
