The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards were held on August 28th in New York at Madison Square Garden.
The show featured performances from Rihanna, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj, Future, Nick Jonas & Ty Dolla $ign, Future, Beyonce, The Chainsmokers & Halsey and Britney Spears & G-Eazy.
Rihanna was honoured at the ceremony with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, presented to her by Drake.
Beyonce received the most awards of the evening wining eight from her eleven nominations, bringing her to a record number of 24 VMAs.
