Top 5 reasons to go to Drake concert

Aubree Drake Graham or just Drake is a real anomaly in a hip-hop community. As a rapper, he has achieved huge international success. As a musician, he founded the successful label OVO Sound. As a designer, he released his own clothing line. The chief men of hip-hop industry expressed their respect to Drake.

If all these arguments did not persuade you to buy Drake tickets, here are 5 reasons why you should attend the concert of this artist.

Reason #1

This man calls himself “Champagne papi”; he is one of the five richest rappers in the world together with Dr. Dre and Jay Z and wears sweatshirts with an owl, which is regarded as his involvement in the Illuminati, or the Masons. This is Drake, who has just crossed the threshold of his 30th birthday. Although in the music he appeared not so long ago, but it seems that he has always been with us. Today, the rapper is on a par with those who make pop music of the highest commercial class like Beyoncé, Kanye West and Taylor Swift, but he is strikingly different from them. Against the background of queens, gods and leaders of the best, Drake remains a simple man who has too many emotions so as not to sing.

Reason #2

A condescending attitude to Drake is a common thing, as he is considered ‘not a real rapper’ or a ‘rapper for girls,’ only because he is clear and enjoyable to many. He comes from a peace-loving Canada, his mother – from a white middle-class Jewish family. The first fame came to Drake when he played in the teen sitcom and his first big concert the rapper played with the band “Hanson”. He does not just read but sings, doing this with an ‘inappropriate’ feeling: the main themes for Drake always remain love and blood.

But not everything is so easy, as the history of Drake has a downside. His father is an African American from Tennessee, who was imprisoned a few times, and when Drake lived with him, he brought him up in the ghetto. With all this, the musician took a perfect niche that was empty for some reasons: he sings about relationships for those who have already grown out of boys’ bands but has not lost the ability to suffer.

Reason #3

His career began and continues largely thanks to mixtapes. After his trials, Lil Wayne noticed him and took the novice rapper under his care and the first breakthrough of Drake happened thanks to the mixtape ‘So Far Gone’ too. Since then, the road to fame was smooth: singles and albums became platinum, got into the Billboard charts, and once all the tracks from the mixtape-millionaire “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” were in them at the same time. Drake even founded his own label OVO with the Egyptian owl as a logo.

Reason #4

Before Drake, none of the rappers put a highly sensitive inner world in the first place. He does not just like to talk about himself, but he does it, revelling all his feelings. In his debut album the number of the personal pronoun ‘I’ surpasses even Kanye’s works – a strong achievement, do you agree? But what enabled him to attract the attention of so many people, is his attitude towards others. Drake sings a lot about love and how he fails to find it, but he does this not as rappers usually do. Instead of attacking his ex-girlfriends, he sadly recounts what a loser he is in a relationship: Drake’s girls cannot stand his glory or do not just call.

Reason #5

While Drake succeeds to sing about his personal feelings (and partially all the people in the world) most of all, he did not lose the classic rapper narrative and attributes. He has a song with a mockery title ‘Started from the Bottom’, he loves his Timberland boots and gold chains, he has a disc with his rapper-fellow, and in rare interviews, he says that he has seen a lot of cruel things in his lifetime. However, a strange combination of comedy and sincerity renders his image outside the rapper subculture. Drake in a sheepskin coat on a background of the mansion in the booklet to “Views” looks luxurious, but not disgusting: he plays with vulgarity purposely (remember the cover of “Take Care”) and makes the listener believe that he just likes this.

Not the rapper’s record of accomplishment is impressive, but how he succeeded to fly to the top during 5-6 years, being just a boy from the series before. On the one hand, everything is simple: Drake has a delightful flair for commercial music, thus he is able to create hits that do not get bored. In an interview with Drake at Fader, his ability to find something new, underground or unknown and clothe it around the intelligible form is called one of his super powers – on a par with a bottomless emotional spectrum and the love to the fans.
