The Vampire Diaries Season 4 Episode 8 “We’ll Always Have Bourbon Street” Review/Recap

The sire bond was not a mistake!, as the episode explored the concept more thoroughly in hopes of making fans think that it’s not all doom and gloom for Delena..
Let’s take a look at this eventful episode of The Vampire Diaries.
The CW

Damon/Elena .. What a hot way to kick off the episode! The two were seen again after the sexy make-out session from the previous week’s episode.. but the lovely moment didn’t last long as Stefan broke the news of the sire bond in which Damon tested and realized was true. We also learned it happened in the past to another poor girl, Charlotte via flashbacks who literally counted each brick after losing Damon.. Anyone else reminded of Bella’s grief over-reactions of losing Edward (biggest LOL moment of the night).
In the end we saw Damon prove that his not a selfish-twisted man as many think as he set the poor girl free to move on with her life before deciding to also break the news to Elena, but fans were left wondering if he will actually go ahead and leave her as the episode ended with Elena convincing him not to do it .. It’s going to be the hardest decision but it’s the only way to experience true love between the two (as we know Elena had feelings for Damon before her new-vampire self).
Tyler, Hayley and his hybrid army?.. What was up with the un-sired hybrids turning against him?, after all he helped set them free! But now it seems to be as if there under control of Tyler now?? as they get ready to bring down Klaus. Hayley on the other hand, delivered the news of the 12 un-sired hybrids to Professor Shane after learning of Hayley’s alliance last week, we now know her true motive was because he knew about her parents who turned out to be deceased.. but what did Shane mean by saying its the just the beginning and what was on that USB he gave her?
Side-Notes.. No Jeremy this week.. , and the return of the Bonnie, Elena & Caroline hang-outs which was more brief than usual due to Caroline’s clash over her dating Damon. Bonnie on the other-hand  is getting her power back!. Could this be a good or bad thing for the rest of her friends?.
Also who was happy to see Lexi again (played by Arielle Kebbel, currently well-known as the vindictive nuisance on 90210). They really need to bring her back somehow as she brings forward the ever-so complex brotherly connection between Damon and Stefan.
Overall, a entertaining episode that delved into understanding the sire bond more clearly via numerous flashbacks. It was not the best episode of the season though, as it diverted from the bigger problems going on outside the relationship drama. Let’s see if the show can go back to being epic in next week’s mid-season finale!
 Overall Rating:
3.7/5
