Another amazing episode to the season, in managed to further follow the momentum of last week’s episode with numerous character development and new story-lines.
Elena 2.0.. Who else is liking this new Elena?.. We saw her let go a bit last night as she finally let out some anger and vulnerability in her transition into a vampire. She developed some huge anger issues against Rebekah, and who wouldn’t? with her tempting her to feed on another human and chucking her sun ring down the drain.. Elena nearly staked her for such acts with her heightened anger! She also nearly killed Matt for over-feeding.. Could Elena be headed for a path of recklessness? It will be interesting to see how this pans out..
Connor, Jeremy and The Five?.. This could lead to something interesting as we discovered just why Jeremy could see the invisible tattoo.. Its because he could be a potential vampire hunter? and could be part of the new mention of The Five? and just what is the Five? If there a group who are just like Connor, i would watch out!! Connor is quite annoying, but they need a new baddy so i guess its relevant to keep him around..
Also what does Klaus know about this so called Five? I hope the writers take this some where good..
Rebekah.. Even if she tried to make Elena’s life hell.. I still love her! She’s just a really complex character, with alot of issues. We saw more of her vulnerability last night as she attempted to mend her relationship with Matt by chucking a party.. and after being drugged with wolf venom via Connor’s use of Tyler’s blood we saw a disturbing vision in how much she loves Matt as she pulled his heart out over insulting her (i really thought it was real, and was shocked for a moment there)..
She also made a alliance with new girl in town April, in which i’m excited to see unravel as they share a bond over losing there loved ones.
Damon.. He was less present than last week, as he was on his hunt to kill Connor.. It was also quite funny when Elena was looking around for her a drink and he was stripping asking if she wanted to stick around for the whole show, another classic Damon moment. I sense that he will have a fling with Meredith as she helped him escape a bomb trap planted by Connor, she also comforted him and gave advice on his struggle in gaining Elena. I wonder if it could happen or if he will immediately get back with Elena, we will just have to wait and see.
Stefan.. There was a bit of focus on him last night, as we saw him have a deep conversation with Caroline over how Elena’s new found self could lead him back to becoming a ripper! in which Caroline made sure wouldn’t happen, its nice to see Caroline take the place of Lexi’s former role..
But there looks like even more trouble in paradise as Elena kept imaging Damon when making love to Stefan in which was induced by the wolf venom.. Could Delena return for good?
Side-notes.. Rebekah and Klaus were back but were was Bonnie 🙁 , What could the connection be between Tyler and new-girl Hayley (Aussie actress Phoebe Tonkin). Also just how did Rebekah recover from the venom? Was a bit confused there as Klaus helped Elena not Rebekah.. and who else loved the team-up between Klaus and Damon, hope to see more of this alliance in the future!
Overall, Another excellent episode to a truly epic season start-up, with some major character development and further set-up into more story-lines to come! I really hope the show can hold onto this greatness as the show goes on as we are so far in for another amazing season of The Vampire Diaries.
