The VD returned with a bang last night, it’s been a while since when return episodes from hiatus’s have been this good. It managed to pack a whole lot of punch, as the TVD crew attended there senior prom.
Here’s a rundown of what went down:
Bonnie is queen (well not really).. Yes she was titled prom queen last night, but she was certainly not a nice one last night, almost killing Elena (cant say the new Elena doesn’t deserve pain though) and laying right into the hands of Silas by episodes end. But despite many fans bashing her, you got to admit we kinda feel sorry for here, who wouldn’t fall for his mind tricks though? His using her loved ones as bait and how terrible to use recently deceased Jeremy.
She’s tormented and is more dangerous than ever, as we saw just how far of control she is!
Rebekah gets more human and lovable!.. By far the best original to date, last night we saw her complex side again by wanting to get the whole human prom experience. Matt on the otherhand continued to be a douche towards her until she proved how good she can be by saving April’s life (poor April though, she was the target of Elena’s frustrations last night). I really think these two have a chance now and would make for one hot couple! It was hilarious seeing her make a joke about being cute in a Grill uniform.
Also, the cure is again causing trouble with Silas posing as Bek’s and taking it from Elijah, I knew she wouldn’t take it though after Klaus lectured her. Was a pretty smart filming trick though TVD creators!
Elena is a bitch.. sorry but she was at her worst-self than ever last night, being the most ruthless by targeting and playing on her best friends emotions. She tried to steal Caroline’s happiness by stealing her dress, dissing and almost killing Bonnie (no wonder Bonnie tried to get her back). Oh and she bashed Damon for loving her. Yep all in 1 episode.
But despite all this, we still saw a bit of humanity in here when she saw the old photos of her friends and family (that was pretty cool). She also looked dumbfounded to Stefan’s moves and showed fear when Bonnie tried to kill her. So everyone, Elena is still in there!
Caroline gets her dream.. despite Elena’s failed attempt, all thanks Klaus who not only provided her a vintage prom dress but brought back Tyler to make it her sweetest prom dream ever. Awww, hurry up and hook-up already!
Sidenotes.. The Damon, Elena and Stefan love triangle re-emerged once again last night.. but in a slight way (thank the heavens) by Damon getting jealous again over the dance and Silas tricking him by playing on his feelings over the whole issue. I really hope the writers stray a way from it though we’ve had 3 seasons of it already! Oh and is April a vampire now?
