The Highest-Rated Superhero TV Shows Streaming Right Now

The superhero genre has grown into arguably the most popular TV or movie genre around right now. Marvel seems to have a monopoly on superhero films, but what about superhero TV shows? Here, it’s way more diverse, with lots of other organizations putting forward some top shows.

With that in mind, take a look at the highest-rated superhero TV shows streaming right now across multiple platforms:

Daredevil

Ironically, Marvel does still have one of the highest-rated TV shows out there. Daredevil is an absolute masterpiece that shows Matthew Murdoch in a way that far surpasses the old film version with Ben Affleck in.

It started out as a Netflix Original Series, but it’s now moved to Disney Plus after Disney bought Marvel. With Daredevil appearing in the most recent Spider-Man film – and his nemesis Kingpin showing up in the Hawkeye series – all signs point to Matthew Murdoch being revived by Disney. Of course, even if no more episodes are made, the entire series is available to stream right now and it’s brilliant.

Invincible

Animated superhero shows divide opinion. Some people don’t watch them because they think they’re too childish. On the contrary, the two shows on this list prove that animated series can be absolutely amazing.

Invincible is available on Amazon Prime and it has nothing to do with DC or Marvel. It’s a really gripping show with a storyline that rivals any live-action show or movie. The best thing about it is that it’s wonderfully violent. That sounds a bit gruesome, but because it’s cartoon animation it’s the perfect level of violence. I won’t explain the plot too much to avoid spoilers, but it basically involves a boy with a superpowered dad, and he finally gets his own superpowers and learns how to use them.

Young Justice

The second animated show on this list, Young Justice follows the teenage superheroes from the DC universe. It’s a series that had its first stint in the early 2010s before sadly being canceled. Fans absolutely loved this show and saw it as the natural successor to the popular Justice League animated series. Thankfully, it got picked up by HBO Max in 2019 and is currently running its 4th series on the streaming platform.

The only problem is that HBO Max is only available in certain countries right now. If you’re outside of the US, it’s not possible to sign up for it. Well, there is a way to know how to watch HBO Max without breaking any laws, and it’s by using a VPN. If you get one set up, you can enjoy Young Justice!

The Boys

Another original series from Amazon Prime, but this one is a live-action masterpiece. If you haven’t already watched The Boys, I implore you to do so. It is definitely very violent and very rude, so it’s not the type of show to watch with your kids if you’re used to watching Marvel stuff with them.

Still, the show itself is wonderfully written and extremely funny yet gripping. The whole premise is what would the world really be like with superheroes. As it turns out, it would be a pretty awful place!

Peacemaker

Finally, we have a DC live-action TV show. Peacemaker stars John Cena and is a spin-off from The Suicide Squad movie. That’s the second one, not the first one! He’s basically an anti-hero, fighting for peace at all costs, even if he has to kill everyone in his way.

As far as DC’s venture into the live-action world goes, this is their best show yet. It’s streaming on HBO Max right now and only recently finished its first season. There are definitely plans to make more seasons, especially given how well-received this show has been so far.

Of course, there are loads of honorable mentions to think about. WandaVision was a big hit when it came out, Loki was fantastic, and Moon Knight seems to be the next in a long line of impressive Marvel shows. Arrow and The Flash have consistently been solid on the DC front, and there are lots of excellent animated TV shows in this category too.

Nevertheless, if you recently watched the flop that was Morbius, and want to cleanse your superhero palette with something genuinely decent, give any of these shows a watch. With the exception of Peacemaker, they all have multiple series that you can binge already. The good news is that there are plans for all of the shows to have more series in the future!
