Aquaman has finally arrived in theatres!
The half human/half god from the sea takes on his first solo adventure. But is it any good? Find out below.
Fans of the DC hero this time around are treated to a bit of his backstory.
Everything provides for the backdrop into the film’s central plot as Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman learns that he is actually heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis!
He must then step up to the plate and challenge his power-hungry brother King Orm (played by Patrick Wilson) to take over the throne.

Overall, the flick has everything a good superhero movie should have. The underdog/mixed-blood hero defying all the norms to change the status quo. It definitely sits alongside Wonder Woman in being the more exciting installments in the DCEU but something falls flat.
It may have helped to show a greater connection to the overall Justice League universe as it feels very afar from what they tried to establish in the 2017 film. But perhaps they intended to start fresh after its mixed performance?
Jason Momoa although is still perfect for the role and does his best with the material given. Amber Heard also proves a surprising treat as Mera!
Verdict: One of the better installments in the DC universe. It’s not perfect but still makes for a fun over-the-top superhero flick.
Overall Rating: 6.5/10
