Miley Cyrus ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ Album Review

Miley Cyrus returns with her hotly anticipated eighth studio record ‘Endless Summer Vacation’.

This time around the former Disney star has been welcomed with the universal praise she has always deserved after being widely criticised ever since breaking boundaries during her controversial ‘Bangerz’ era.

Smash post-breakup single “Flowers” which served as the first taste of the new record broke records everywhere and rightfully so. All her efforts in trying to be her most authentic self as an artist were finally heard as Miley opted for a more back to basics return.

Despite “Flowers” being a pure pop ear-worm, ‘Endless Summer Vacation’ in its entirety is actually quite reserved and a much more chilled body of work for Miley standards. It’s an easy breezy summer to be had here on this vacation.

We see glimpses of her past on songs like “Jaded”, “You”, the country-tinged “Thousand Miles” and stripped back “Wonder Woman” where Cyrus brings out her Disney-esque ballad side.

She plays around with trippy sounds and channels her playful side on experimental songs “Handstand”, “Violet Chemistry”, “Island” and “River” all while serving a bit of classic rock vibes (in the vein of previous records Plastic Hearts and Can’t Be Tamed) on “Muddy Feet” and “Wildcard”.

Verdict: While being known for challenging the status quo Miley finds a nice balance between classic and experimental pop on this easily palatable record.

Overall Rating: 8.5/10

Best Tracks: Flowers, Jaded, Handstand, River, Violet Chemistry, Muddy Feet, Wildcard and Island.
