How I Met Your Mother returned from a pretty long hiatus last night. This time the show drifted away from Ted’s problems and focused on Lily and Marshall’s future.
Here’s a run down of the episode’s highlights.
Lily & Marshall headed for Rome? After numerous struggles faced by Lily and Marshall career-wise, especially Marshall who’s lawyer career was hitting a massive rough patch in a quite punny way (yes puns galore). The Captain on the other-hand continued to bug Lily to go to Rome, in which Lily conjured up some funny little Italian movies where Marshall got with a Italian model.
In the end though, after several resistant walls by Lily they agreed to head to Rome. Will they actually be leaving though? Or will they scrap there plans before the season’s end?
Ted still digs Robin.. For all use already tired of the ongoing reoccurance of the Ted & Robin relationship triangle, last night was not your night as it showed it’s head again when Ted let of some jealous comments towards Barney over his treatment towards to his wife. Barney fired back though that it’s his wife, not his.
It all resurfaced during the hunt to see what was under Liddy Gate’s over-sized jacket, apparently it was too hot to handle!
Barney finds a female version of himself.. Joining in on the jacket madness was Robin, it was quite funny seeing her ponder of the same mystery the boys were into. With permission, Barney was allowed to find out and therefore miraculously prove that Robin is the only woman he has eyes for. It also proved just what makes the two so compatible. She is Barney in a female’s body after-all.
Overall, a Lily and Marshall heavy episode that allowed us to take some time out and explore there lives for a bit with a hint of Ted, Robin and Barney on the side. It was a nice little funny episode, but didn’t manage to enhance the Mother mystery any further. I’m sure we will be getting back into the thick of things now that there’s only 3 episode of the season left.
