How I Met Your Mother went back to its classic Barney-Stinson themed episodes, and yes they’ve long been missed.

Here are the top 5 highlights of the night.
1. Barney can’t get his fantasies out of his head.. well his Bernie alter-ego, it was quite hilarious to see the return of old Barney tonight, from his classic over-the-top dreams to the return of the playbook in helping Ted.. those penis saying jokes had me laughing out loud. It also outlines the true-self he has been supressing for a while.
2. Robin’s realisation.. Along with Barney’s old self showing true light, she got all worked up with him and felt she made a mistake In thinking that he had changed. But that’s who Barney is though? That’s what makes these two work, in which she finally came to accept and understand the way he expresses true love towards her (Barney’s romantic flower magic). After all he plotted his way back to her heart.
3. Lily and Marshall continue being themselves.. Lily continued on her new artistic streak, this time bringing along Marshall who also invited a bag of skittles too. Marshall was feeling out of place, and tried his best to connect (those tmnt references were classic). In the end his awkwardness actually came through despite him dropping the skittles, as the guy they came to meet also loved Marshall’s beloved Ninja Turtles.
4. Goodbyes Galore.. Bye Jeanette.. you left gracefully without overstaying your welcome. Bye Playbook and goodbye red boots! This certainly was a object farewell episode.
5. Ted is now on the direct path.. Okay we are now past all the random girls.. now onto the mother we go! Wonder if we will learn the identity soon now.
