What an episode! After last week’s shocking reveal, we were further taken on some new thrills.. It’s a shame that the show reached an all time low in terms of ratings last night. Here’s a rundown of what went on last night.
The gang was together again, minus Dan in unfolding the Jack Bass mystery, as it turned out to be.. Someone was trying kill him.. (a little underwhelming). But despite that, we got some great new action from Blair and Dan after she continues to support him in his family affairs. In the end they team up with Lola and Ivy (who finally returned to the gang) to get the attempted Jack Bass murderer into jail. Great story line, reminds us of the old GG.
Dan invited Blair to join him in Rome, in which she struggled to say yes to as her mind was on helping Chuck, when she’s not there to help.. Serena steps in, and i immediately sensed that writers are trying to return to the old couple story lines, with Serena/Dan and Blair/Chuck.. She really helped him in his time of need, with a little help from Dorota.. How funny was her ‘I am here’ line when she pretended to be Serena.. gotta love Dorota.
Diana was let off Scott-free thanks to Dan, as he forgave her for all her wrong doings and let her move on with her life, despite struggling a bit to let it happen, props to Nate for just letting her be.. I guess that’s the end of Diana Payne. Also what happened to Rufus and Lily?? i guess we will see them return next week or in the still uncertain sixth season.
And that ending? what a great way to build up suspense for next week.. the old gossip girl was back and badder than ever, by trying to sabotage Blair and Serena’s friendship.. How will this all unravel? We will find out in next week’s sure to be epic episode!
Overall, another great episode of Gossip Girl, with plenty of action from the dynamic group.. and next week’s season finale look’s like another huge episode, with all story lines coming to a climax.. Also will the show return for a likely to be shortened final season.
