The Amazing Spider-man Movie Review!

Ever since the first trilogy began when i was a little kid, i became a fan of Spidey and when i heard of the reboot i was excited and after attending the special 10 minute screenings that were held for the film i was even more pumped..
And what is the result you ask? It was really good, not what i was expecting but was an exceptional film.
This web slinging hero in this flick is very different to what we have seen before.. it definitely had a more serious and emotional feel going for it than the past films.
The first half of the film is full of character development, emotion and drama that you forget that you are watching a spidey flick as there is little to none action in which was more highly present in previous films. But this change is good!, as you get to understand the characters and there relationships much more deeply than the previous trilogy ( which still had some great drama and emotion).

The first half may feel like you’ve seen it all before as spidey fans still have the first trilogy fresh in there mind.. especially if you have recently viewed the previous films.. but the nice touch to this film is that the events from the original are slightly changed and more realistic, I’m also glad that this film did not include the wrestling match seen in the original … The sequel to this reboot will surely be even further amazing as the origins will be out of the way allowing fans to get more fresh material with new direction in key.

The second half of the film then amps up the action, and then the audience is then reminded that this is a spidey flick after all.. The action is done quite well and is just right without being overdone, unlike some films that drag out there battles for over an hour long. I thoroughly enjoyed the spidey crane scene, despite the cheesiness off it as the score and SFX were top notch. The ending flows well as it reaches its climax that both satisfies you both physically and emotionally in which all spidey flicks have done quite well. Make sure to stick around after the mid-ending credits as the end also leaves you wanting more, and will keep you guessing long after leaving the theater.

The cast was spot on, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone shine through there roles and both share an unremarkable chemistry. The previous trilogy also had good casting and some characters in this reboot you begin to miss such as the daily bugle team which may get introduced later on in this rebooted series. But this aside, the leads of this film are superb and manage to give everything they’ve got to their characters making viewers become thoroughly engaged with the film.

Now for the technical side of the film.. Pacing is a little slow at the beginning which picks up quite well as the film progresses, cinematography and atmosphere is beautiful as is the films visual effects with the film also having a great score to match.

Overall, the film reboots the famous web slinging hero in a superb way, in which delivers more in emotional and dramatical substance rather than being action packed like most other superhero movies that make this one a stand-out superhero flick. Although not perfect due to the material being done before , it is still a successful and worthy reboot that is likely to go far with the following sequels to come, and may even outperform Riami’s previous trilogy.

Overall Rating:

8/10
