The LA Complex 2×02 “The Contract” Episode Review!

The second episode to the brand new season was great, but not as good as it’s first due to the new character adjustments..
The episode focused on our past favorite with another new focus on the brand new characters, who have great complexes and make for a compelling show. Here’s the rundown of what went down!

Abbey struggled with her new Christian role by discovering some dirty secrets of her cast members (not so innocent after all!) in which are sleeping together.. She decided to agree and keep their secret a secret because of the demanding conservative director.

Kaldrick was in a mental rehabilitation facility after his attempted suicide, who continued to have his random outbursts.. but this time we saw his vulnerable side in which he wants help for his problems which was highlighted when he confessed to the disabled man who does not move, speak or talk which really made you feel for him.. Its a shame his manager took him out so soon when he may have finally started to look for help.
Nick also struggled tonight with his new comedy show gig in which his old flame Sabrina kissed him. Now he must compete against her for the tv show spot.. and it looks like Sabrina will get even more threatening after discovering Nick and Abbey’s relationship. Speaking of Abbey and Nick, will there relationship survive? as it began to show cracks last night with Abbey not being their to comfort Nick in his time of need.
Raquel continued to hide her pregnancy last night, and got grilled by judgments as she applied for yet another round of roles that labelled her as cold, angry and uptight (now that’s harsh!) which she went to drastic measures to change by dying her hair and changing her appearance. But by the end she was back to normal as Connor got her to feel good about herself once more.
Connor, had his own problems going on during all this as he met a new woman name Jennifer, who offered him a contract (hence the title) to be his girlfriend for star purposes.. it came as kind of a shock as she set up herself as a genuine woman when they first met. In the end Connor decides to accept the offer as he needs on the publicity he can get, but is he on yet another path that could damage his self once more?
Finally, the new struggling sister and brother got a substantial amount of screen time. I really feel sorry for these two as their young and in need of surviving.. They got to sign a contract but they need a huge amount of money to get the brother started on his career path causing Beth to phone her dad.. I hope everything runs smooth for the two and really look forward to how their story plays out.
Overall, a good but not great episode to the season as it continued to set up on what the season has to offer which im sure will be yet another great season of the show. I hope we get to see even more character developments from the entire ensemble as the season has done a exceptional job in progressing its characters from its past season.
