Been busy this week, so here’s a small recap/review of what went down in this week’s ‘Glee’.
Although not as good as last week, it was still a quite fun and entertaining ride..
The story was meh.. but the humor and cover of Britney were exceptional.
Here’s a rundown of a few key points..
Britney Has Lost The Plot… Although a complete side-track of herself, we still got to see her usual humorous self (espec her convo with the cheap version of Siri) .. The episode also allowed us to see Britney on a more serious note as she seems to be in a great depression since Santana left.. I’m sure things will patch up sooner or later. This was just a filler story but still managed to provide some sense of character development for her.
The new kids.. Britney 2.0 had a heavy focus on Puck’s brother, and in doing so made the episode become tiring.. Glee once again showed signs of last season by leaving out other characters and focusing on random new story-lines.. Please writers, do not go there again!!
Rachel… Although Puck’s brother dragged the episode down, Rachel provided the most interesting story of the night which saved the episode from being a complete step back in time. Rachel brought the sex appeal with here rendition of ‘Oops I Did It Again’.. I also enjoyed seeing her and Brodies relationship continue to blossom as began to push Finn further out of her mind. Her clash with her washed-up new drama teacher also made for an entertaining watch. I hope Rachel’s story continues to head into more dramatic paths, as it looks to be the most strongest story-line of the season so far.
The covers of the night.. ( A -) Another exceptional rendition of Britney Spears famous hits..
The stand out’s of the night would have to be Rachel’s mashup and Marley’s rendition of ‘Every Time’.
Overall, a average follow-up to last week’s promising season opener. It was fun and entertaining but lacked in depth, as characters and stories were once again sidetracked.. I hope Glee can get some if it’s mojo back again as it still has it somewhere deep down after last week’s episode managed to give us a glimpse of it once more. Next week’s episode looks more promising though, check out a promo of it below.
