Some things were resolved on How I Met Your Mother last night.. well at least they seemed to be.
Below are the top 4 highlights of the night:

1. Ted gets over Robin (again).. The story that never ends may have finally came to end last night as he confronted his feelings to Barney over his (sometime) attraction to Robin. It was nice seeing him finally face his fears and reveal his true feelings about Barney’s soon-to-be-wife. I just hope it’s done and dusted now so we can finally move onto Ted and the mother!
2. Lily tries to find Robin new friends (but gets jealous).. It was great seeing how the girls hens night went (it was worse then Barney’s) in which also revealed Robin’s lack of friends.
It was great seeing the writers bring back to the surface Robin and Lily’s close friendship, in that they are each others best girlfriends.. Robin simply just doesn’t get along with girls (besides Lily) who might be the reason she doesn’t. I also liked how they re-highlighted Lily’s subconscious desire to sleep with Robin and the fact that Robin was raised like a boy from her father.
One last note on Lily, i just can’t get enough of her.. especially her re-occuring catchphrase this season “thanks Linus” which was one of her first lines last night!
3. Marshall makes it to Farhampton.. digitally speaking.. I don’t remember seeing Daphne (the passenger bitch turned sort-of friend) las night whilst Marshall appeared via iPad/tablet. It was quite funny that they incorporated the boys usual activities (playing cards, checking out girls etc.) with him in a screen.. also the frozen screen was hilarious, especially Lily’s accidental blurb of their dirty chat sessions (classic Marshall/Lily).
4. Barney finds a best man (after having a heart-to-heart).. It was great that the show explored the road to choosing a best-man via the Bro Code, it again emphasised how much Barney has grown as he tried to deal with the incident of not turning up when Robin needed him by blaming it all on Ted. I laughed out loud at the expensive wine drop that both hurt Barney and Ted emotionally (those reactions were priceless).
By episodes end, he came to realise the ‘Broken Code’ is not as meaningful as it once was and began dealing with his friends (who also is now his best-man) feelings towards his future wife. It was still left open though, so we will see if their friendship is further tested in the future.
OVERALL: It was a well-balanced episode of drama and comedy that proved to fans yet again that the final season is still going strong. Now all we need is to see the mother again, were already missing her.. (good sign though, as we have a perfect mother).
