The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) have officially wrapped, celebrating another huge year in music, music videos and pop culture.
Held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on September 27, the 2026 VMAs featured major wins for Madonna, Taylor Swift, BTS, Sienna Spiro, Lisa, Olivia Rodrigo, Bad Bunny and more.
Madonna entered the ceremony as one of the night’s biggest nominees and finished as the ceremony’s most awarded artist, taking home seven Moon Person trophies. Taylor Swift also had a major night, winning Video of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia” and receiving the inaugural Artist Director Honors.
Taylor Swift Wins Video of the Year
One of the biggest moments of the 2026 MTV VMAs came when Taylor Swift won Video of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia.”
The win came in a competitive category featuring videos from Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, GENER8ION, Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter.
Swift also received the inaugural Artist Director Honors, adding another major achievement to her VMAs history.
Madonna Dominates the 2026 VMAs
Madonna was one of the biggest stars of the night, taking home seven awards.
She won Artist of the Year, Best Dance, Best Collaboration alongside Sabrina Carpenter, as well as several technical and album-related categories.
Her winning collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter, “Bring Your Love,” also became one of the night’s standout moments.

A Huge Night for Music’s Biggest Stars
The 2026 MTV VMAs delivered a mix of established superstars and emerging artists, with Madonna leading the night in total wins and Taylor Swift taking home the ceremony’s coveted Video of the Year award.
BTS also had a standout evening with wins for Song of the Year and Best Group, while Sienna Spiro picked up the Best New Artist award.
With major performances, surprise moments and plenty of Moon Person trophies handed out, the 2026 VMAs once again proved to be one of the biggest nights on the pop culture calendar.
