Review: The Mandalorian and Grogu (2026)

After a seven-year drought, Star Wars is back on the big screen. But is it a worthy return? The answer in short is meh.

The Mandalorian and Grogu isn’t the grand cinematic rebirth Lucasfilm was probably hoping for. It’s a fun space adventure, but it aggressively plays it safe.

The plot is quite thin—Mando gets assigned a rescue mission by the New Republic (featuring a brief but welcome Sigourney Weaver), and he and Grogu hit the road.

Despite its flaws, the movie is still a blast if you just want to eat some popcorn and look at cool sci-fi stuff, plus who doesn’t love Grogu?

Watch it in theatres or at home? I would watch this one once it hits Disney+ unless you are a super massive fan of the TV Show.
