Review: Prime Video’s ‘Off Campus’ Is Pure, Mindless Comfort Food

Prime Video’s new college hockey romance, Off Campus, is dominating the streaming charts. But is there reason for the hype?

Adapted from Elle Kennedy’s massive bestselling novel The Deal, the eight-episode first season delivers exactly what it promises.

The plot follows Hannah Wells (Ella Bright), a music major who hates sports, and Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli), the handsome captain of Briar University’s elite hockey team. When Garrett needs to boost his philosophy grade to stay on the ice, and Hannah needs a fake boyfriend to make her musician crush jealous, they strike the ultimate romance trope: a fake-dating arrangement.

Full attention or pure background viewing? You can easily fold laundry, doomscroll, or completely zone out and you won’t miss a single crucial plot point.

The Verdict: 6/10 Mindless, easy-to-watch fluff
