If you’re like me and you’re a little older, trying to keep up with all the buzzing lingo of Generation Z and the constantly changing pop culture trends (I’m still not adept at understanding TikTok, sadly), you’re probably also struggling to stay on top of all the new and popular artists that continue to emerge out of nowhere.
Luckily, with so many of us working from home, those nerve-racking water cooler conversations with fellow youths are now irrelevant. But if you’re still looking to stay across the current music landscape, then bless up – because now you can actually see who has the most dedicated fanbase. I mean, the more fans you have, the more famous you are, right?
OnBuy has conducted a survey to score fans on a range of factors and can exclusively reveal once and for all which fandom reps their idols the hardest. By collecting the list of top 20 artists and collecting data based on factors including monthly Spotify listeners and Instagram follower engagement, OnBuy created a ‘dedication index’ where the scores for each fandom were totalled and ranked.
Some results include:
- Billie Eilish has the most dedicated fans, scoring 77 out of 100 in OnBuy’s index
- A score of 72 places Ed Sheeran fans in second – 1 million fan account followers contribute to this total
- Ariana Grande is the most streamed artist on Spotify with 79.2 million listeners a month
- Whilst down in eighth, BTS have the most fan account followers at a whopping 7.4 million
This will DEFINITELY help you keep some little interesting names in your back-pocket the next time you have to spit out some sick social media facts.
