2020 may have been a difficult year but Miley Cyrus has came in like a wrecking ball to save it.
Her seventh studio album titled ‘Plastic Hearts’ has finally been unleashed and it’s everything and more.
Miley spent loads of time perfecting this record and it really shows as she reworked the planned She Is Miley Cyrus album to make Plastic Hearts.
After first launching the EP She Is Coming, her life shifted in a way she did NOT see coming. We don’t need to divulge into all those personal details here as you have probably seen all the headlines about her life splashed across the tabloids.
Single once again, the pop star is back to focusing on herself and has found a certain self-acceptance by confronting her inner self.
She really gets deep In this body of work and is not afraid to keep it 100% with listeners on tracks like “WTF Do I Know”, “Bad Karma” and emotion-heavy “Hate Me”, “Never Be Me” and “Angels Like You”.
Miley really encapsulates and owns the pop-rock genre here as it all feels like a true throwback whilst at the same time has a really fresh feeling to it. This is particularly noticeable on “Plastic Hearts” and “Gimme What I Want”.
The former Disney star even teams up with the iconic Billy Idol on rock anthem “Night Crawling” along with her other idol Joan Jett on “Bad Karma”. She also got to collaborate with the legendary Stevie Nicks by combining her iconic song “Edge of Seventeen” on an epic remix of Miley’s first single from the record “Midnight Sky” and the outcome is truly something for the music history books.
All the single choices this era have been superbly picked too with “Midnight Sky” and “Prisoner” with Dua Lipa being bombastic pop-rock radio heaven. Miley Cyrus is where she is meant to be and she is absolutely OWNING it.
Overall Rating: 10/10
Verdict: Nothing to fault here. Miley Cyrus is really in her lane on Plastic Hearts and the record is one of her best albums to date. It could quite possibly be her best yet?! Well done, Miley.
