After four years out of the limelight due to personal health struggles, Selena is ready to reclaim her musical throne and boy has she come back swinging!
This time around Selena finds her sound and plays it to her utmost advantage. From her whispery tone to her effortless ability to turn a phrase into such a catchy earworm, along with a touch of exoticism on tracks like “Let Me Get Me” and “Ring, ” Rare has it all!
You can also hear a hint of her close friends Taylor Swift and Julia Michaels within the album. Julia even lent a helping hand on a few songs on the LP.
While it is mostly banger after banger with the occasional chilled bop, there comes one particular moment where Selena lays out all of her emotions on the premier single from the album, “Lose You To Love Me” which remains one of Selena’s best songs in her discography.
Fans will certainly be wildly pleased with Selena after waiting years for her triumphant return. The long wait was all worth it.
