The whole gang is back for more wild zombie antics in Zombieland: Double Tap

It’s never too late for a sequel!

It’s been years (10 in fact) since Zombieland graced theatres but the follow-up to the horror comedy is finally here and it’s just as perfect as the original.

This time around Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), Wichita (Emma Stone), and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) must face off against evolved zombies. They also learn they are not alone when discovering new survivors.

That’s not all they have to deal with as human emotion and family problems struck the core four, something much more scary than zombies as you probably already know.

There is some serious laugh out loud moments in this long awaited instalment, something which is quite difficult to muster in today’s cinema offering. Keeping to its particular zombie comedy mashup formula helps achieve this status alongside hilarious character additions like your typical ‘dumb blonde’ Madison (Zoey Deutch) and hippie musician Berkeley (Avan Jogia).

Double Tap‘s self-awareness make it such a delight to watch as it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s just happy to even come into existence and allows its original cast ensemble to come together again for their fans and for both to relish in pure nostalgia.

Verdict: It may have been years since its predecessor but Zombieland: Double Tap has just enough camp and humour to earn its very existence.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10
