Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it’s Shazam!
DCEU latest offering is the more unheard of hero who surprisingly proves to be the dark horse of the franchise.
The flick revolves around Billy Batson, a foster kid who becomes a overnight superhero when he is magically whisked into an alternate dimension. He meets a powerful wizard whom gives him the power to turn into and adult-sized hero by simply screaming the words by you guessed it – SHAZAM!
Zachary Levi is perfect in the role as the super powered alter-ego to Billy, who is played by Asher Angel and really makes the character come to life on screen. He completely sells being a kid trapped inside an adult body.
Viewers are also in for treat come the films conclusion but we won’t delve into that as it will spoil the fun.
Be sure to stick around when the credits start to role as the film has both a mid and post credit scene.

Verdict: DC strikes the perfect balance with Shazam! A fun, entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable superhero entry into the ever-expanding comic book-turned-film universe.
