Anne-Marie – ‘Speak Your Mind’ (2018) Album Review

We review the pop singer’s first-ever album!

Anne-Marie has been around for quite some time generating big hits like “Alarm” and “Rockabye” with Clean Bandit and Sean Paul, but now at long last has released her debut album.

Her first EP delivers the perfect launchpad as it ticks all the right boxes when it comes to producing a modern pop album. She deals with breakups, finding your feet, self-acceptance, growing up, love and players. To encompass all that is no easy feat, but Anne-Marie does just that and ever so effortlessly. Not only does she speak her mind without fear, she speaks so in such style.

The UK born singer goes between chilled bops like Ed Sheeran assisted track “2002” , acoustic melodies like “Some People” to tropical house bangers like “Bad Girlfriend” along with “Can I Get Your Number” and just owns each style.

There is room to grow from here of course as debut albums tend to be tricky little things. If ‘Speak Your Mind’ is anything to go by, Anne-Marie is a superstar and knows exactly what it takes to make it in an increasingly difficult pop market.

Best Tracks: Ciao Adios, 2002, Alarm, Then, Bad Girlfriend, Heavy, Can I Get Your Number, Machine, Breathing Fire (Deluxe Edition)
