90210 Season 5 Episode 11 “We’re Not Not In Kansas Anymore” Review!

This week’s 90210 was a nice little fun trip into the unknown via Annie’s alternate dream state (Remember Ryan’s coma dream ep in The OC anyone?), it was great but could of been even greater..

Let’s take a look at the highlights of the night…
Naomi is broke.. and driving an economy car? .. It was hilarious seeing her reaction once Annie told her about the dream. But all jokes aside, despite being a gold-digger in her alternate reality state she still had that good old’ Naomi we have grown to love. It was also nice to see her end up with Max again in a different universe, but are they really meant for each other in reality?.. I kinda want them to stick together but after Max’s absurd ways of dealing with his marriage, i’m unsure if i want it now. Why lie to Naomi and go into hiding with your parents Max? I really hope he gets his act together soon!
Silver loses her feelings.. as she continued to run her dark-gossip blog if Annie never showed up in the zip. I thought it was really great that the writers actually put in this small detail .. way back from its beginnings in season 1. It was nice to reminisce and see her back in her dark brooding days, but i’m glad it was just a dream as i like the Silver she has grown into. Annie’s dream also miraculously helped Silver re-evaluate her current state (another nice touch) as she realized that she was not being herself by betraying Teddy and forging his signature in to removing his father rights.. in which Teddy discovered in the closing scenes of the night.. Will he forgive her this time? ..

Dixon and Adrianna have lost the plot.. These two were by far the most damaged in Annie’s alternate reality.. Dixon was so self-absorbed that he abandoned all his friends and family (particularly Annie) to live the high life, after feeling left-out by the Wilson’s. Silver later exposed his Kansas roots which than lead him back to Annie for forgiveness.. which was kinda nice as he also gained greater perspective in real-life. Now on to Adrianna, she was definitely the worst off as she continued to be pushed aside by Dixon and was a washed up Hollywood star who looked to be continuing her drug/alcohol addiction ways that we saw back in season 1.. Guess Annie really saved her right? .. Props to the writers again for giving her a scene with Naomi, this time with a nod to their early friendship days.
Liam gets him self in to trouble.. Annie saved Liam’s life again in both her dream and real-life state after diverting him from getting into a drug deal with Ty by conveniently dropping her phone.. (Lannie is coming any-day now.. hang in there!) and in the end dumped her old Kansas bf once again for Liam (this actually happened in the past as i recall) who than woke her up from her trippy experience. Also Liam looks to be headed back into bad boy territory again (Ola Season 2 days) after smashing a guys tail-light.. Do you want the old bad boy-Liam back or are you happy the way he is now?.. hit the comments below.

Side-Notes.. Good to see Navid back!! And for the first time in a long time, i actually enjoyed his presence.. Also nice seeing Ty appear… even though his plot-line was kinda lame.

Overall, a wildly entertaining trip into the zip without a slice of Kansas. The writers could of explored more past story-lines with such a theme, but still delivered us a satisfyingly fun ride. It really brought home that the show wouldn’t be the same without sweet Annie Wilson.

Overall Rating:

4.1/5
