There has been alot of confusion since
the cancellation of 90210, whether it will go out with a major cliffhanger where fans will be left gobsmacked or if they’ll give fans a proper satisfactory end.
The answer to that question is that fans will be getting a nice little ending, but it will be rushed and probably not as satisfying Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and The OC series finales due to the late noticement of cancellation..
But nevertheless, we will at least be left with a finale-type ending rather than the dreaded cliffhanger-cancellation-endings.. but there will most probably be alot of open-endidness (which is not so bad, as fans can choose the way they would like there characters to go out.. Remember OC’s Ryan and Taylor anyone?)
The cast are currently re-shooting some finale scenes to coincide with the cancellation (check out some photos below). Judging by the on-set photos, there’s a hint of end-game couples set to re-patch their long forgotten romances (Sixon, Navianna.. Sorry Addixon and Nixon fans). As for Ivy making a return, i guess she found happiness with Diego in Mexico.
To confirm these re-shoots and changes, here are some statements by the director himself, Annalynne (aka Naomi) and costume designer Kate Buzzelli.
90210’s director on twitter stated this to fans
“You will get the send off. Script is being written. You’ll be happy.”
Costume designer Kate Buzzelli also kept fans posted on the show’s final episode via twitter stating this to fans “To answer all the fans: they didn’t seem to have time to write a proper show ending. There are only 3 days left to shoot and I doubt they will change it. They have decided to take out some of cliff hanger scenes but that still doesn’t resolve a lot. There was not enough time to really give proper send off since we have only few days left to tape. Cast and crew were hoping to at least offer some closure for fans. Rumors have circulate that maybe cast will try to create videos for fans. There have been a lot of changes but this late in the game seems nearly impossible to have a genuine intended finale”.
Finally AnnaLynne talked to ClevverNews before the cancellation announcement, about what she thinks about all of this.. the interview also talks about the re-shoots being made.

I think we should get a short season. If Liam and Annie are going to be like OC's Ryan and Taylor I want a short sixth.
We SHOULD get a short 6th season or at least an extended season 5. Why can't they just give us this? The cast deserves it. Most times when the writing for the show irritated me, I stuck with the show because I liked the cast and its characters. They've done a great job with what they were given to work with. I wanted to see Lannie married and Nax happy, but I'm at least glad about the Sixon reuniting rumors: )
