Stirring the pot literally and metaphorically is the tale of Dorothea (Annette Benning-American Beauty), a single mum raising a teenage son in the summer of 1969.  Directed by Mike Mills (Beginners), it’s a full house with free-spirited punk Abbie (Greta Gerwig-Jackie) and Julie (Fanning), who is the sassy, provocative teen that your parents warned you about.

Taking a village of Southern Californians to raise a child ain’t no easy feat, which brings us to the ‘alien’ man of the commune, Jamie (Billy Crudup), a hippie with an interest in Dorothea and Julie.  Among all the weed smoke and vanity mirrors,  there are the usual struggles of parenthood and identity in a revolving time.

20th Century Woman was nominated for Best Screenplay at the 2017 Academy Awards, and nominated for Best Picture and Best Actress (Annette Bening) at the 2017 Golden Globes.
