First Trailer for ‘Detroit’ Drops Today (2017)

Ah, Detroit. Once known as Motor Town, or ‘Motown’. One of the pinnacles of American industry and culture, only to suffer a drastic economic decline and urban decay that has left the city reeling behind other cities in Michigan for years.

A massive hit to the city was the infamous 1967 riots, where police raided an unlicensed bar that resulted in a five day civil upbringing that was one of the worst that the United States had ever seen.

No stranger to civil rebellion is John Boyega (Star Wars-The Force Awakens) and Anthony Mackie (Captain America-Civil War) who are placed in a terrifying standoff between the National Guard and civilians. Already there are firebombs, the riot squat and complete devastation.

We also recognise Will Poulter (We’re the Millers) and John Krasinski (US The Office).

Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) is at the helm and she’s already proved herself with movies in this domain.

This looks explosive, in a good way.
