From David Yates – the director who brought us the last four Harry Potter films and the upcoming feature Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, comes the familiar character and a new tale written by Adam Cozad and Craig Brewer. The Legend of Tarzan stars Alexander Skarsgård as its title character and Margot Robbie as his companion Jane Porter, as well as Oscar Nominees and Winners Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou, John Hurt, Jim Broadbent and Christopher Waltz.
As Tarzan became accustomed to the London lifestyle as John Clayton III – Lord Greystoke, an invitation leads him back to Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament. Completely unaware of his place in a deadly scheme of greed and revenge plotted by the Belgian Captain Leon Rom, the beast within him is about to be unleashed…
The first teaser trailer of the story, which arrived less than three months after the trailer of The Jungle Book – another one of Disney’s live adaptations, similarly gives some excellent visuals as well as the all round revelations of the cast; most notably the physique of Skarsgård, a well-groomed Tarzan, a slightly damp Margot Robbie and quite a bit of CGI.
After the disaster reboot Tarzan (2013), let’s hope they get it right this time.
