Zara Larsson – ‘1’ (Album Review)

Artist to watch in 2015…

With her US/Worldwide debut on the horizon, meet Zara Larsson!

Zara, a Swedish 17-year old is about to take over the international airwaves, with her catchy and dance-tastic debut album.

Released in October, ‘1’ sneakily made it’s debut without particularly making a huge impact, but with the album getting an EP (with a range of tracks selected from ‘1’) released for the US market under the title ‘Uncover’  it’s bound to infect the major pop markets.

While one of her tracks, titled “Uncover” circulated in the form of numerous remixes last year, I finally learned more about the artist behind the track. Zara was certainly no one-hit wonder with numerous music-videos being released straight off the album. “Uncover” is of course amazing in it’s original form, while the rest of the tracks are pure dance bops!

Zara proves to be another versatile artist on the album as she gives listeners something to dance to, while also touching on more emotional and life matters on tracks like “Weak Heart” and “Still In My Blood”.

Katy Perry even mentioned the up and comer via Twitter, admiring the final track on the album “She’s Not Me (Pt 1 & 2), which makes it likely that she will be the next Tove Lo of 2015. Seriously, is it just me or does Sweden have some serious talent?!!

Amongst being named by a major pop player, Zara was also one of the opening acts for UK pop-artist, Cher Lloyd during her I Wish Tour in the US during late 2013.

So keep it locked, as you might be seeing a lot more Zara in the future.

Best Tracks: Bad Boys, Uncover, Rooftop, Carry You Home, Never Gonna Die, If I Was Your Girl, Still In My Blood.
